This guidance is not award-year-specific and applies across award years.

Refer to GEN-17-08 and the attachment, General Guidance for Disasters. According to the U.S. Department of Education (ED), "If, as a direct result of a disaster, an institution is temporarily closed for a period of time that impacts the length of its academic year, the Department will determine the continued eligibility of the institution’s programs and students on a case-by-case basis. The institution should promptly contact its School Participation Division to discuss its situation."

School Participation Division contact information is available online at https://fsapartners.ed.gov/help-center/fsa-customer-service-center/federal-student-aid-offices/school-participation-division.
