This guidance is specific to the 2023-24 award year and later.

For payment periods beginning on or after July 1, 2023, under the provisions of the FAFSA Simplification Act, if enrolled in eligible Prison Education Programs (PEPs) confined or incarcerated individuals are eligible for Pell Grants.
