Is There a List Of Known 2024-25 FAFSA Issues?

Yes. The U.S. Department of Education (ED) is compiling a list of 2024–25 FAFSA Issue Alerts. Some have workarounds; some don't. Be sure to check back frequently as new issues are added and older ones resolved.

We appreciate that schools are reporting issues to NASFAA, and our team is communicating the higher level, broad-scale issues to ED on a regular basis. That said, if you discover a new issue, you should also reach out directly to the FAFSA Processing System (FPS) Help Desk at 1-800-330-5947 or by email at [email protected]. ED will need student-specific details that you cannot provide to NASFAA. Report these so ED:

1. Becomes aware of the issue and can log it;
2. Can see if it is related to a known issue;
3. Can troubleshoot the issue and give instruction on what to do next; and
4. Hopefully fix the issue for future processing.

Since we are essentially testing in a production environment, it is critical that schools report all instances when the FAFSA is not functioning as expected so they can make the necessary updates within the FPS. The more schools report a specific issue, the more likely it gets ED's attention. ED is still determining widespread issues versus system-specific problems, so this direct communication is important.
